The editorial content of the Archive — including articles, feature accounts, obituaries, investigations, comics, puzzles, and all published lore — is freely accessible to any visitor without registration. No subscription or account is required to read the Archive.

2. Correspondent Membership

Visitors may register a free Correspondent account. Membership grants access to interactive features of the Archive, including: collectible inventory, puzzle progress tracking, achievement records, the Dispatch Log, and the Correspondent profile. These features are provided as-is and may be modified, expanded, or discontinued at any time.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when registering. Accounts are for individual use only and may not be transferred.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: scrape or systematically harvest content from the Archive; attempt to circumvent security measures or access controls; use automated tools to interact with interactive features; impersonate other users or Archive staff; or use the Archive for any unlawful purpose. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Intellectual Property

All original content published by the Archive — including editorial text, illustrations, fictional characters, lore, puzzles, and interactive features — is the property of The Southern Colorado Obscura. Reproduction or redistribution without written permission is prohibited. Historical content from public domain sources is reproduced for archival and educational purposes.

5. Advertising

The Archive displays advertisements on publicly accessible pages via Google AdSense. Advertisements are not displayed to logged-in Correspondents on members-only pages. We do not control the content of third-party advertisements. Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's own privacy policies.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Archive is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Fictional content is presented for entertainment and is not historical fact. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
